From Kitchen Anxiety to Culinary Confidence: Why I Teach Differently

My relationship with food began at six years old in my grandmother's kitchen, where I learned to cook. But my deepest education came through necessity. When my husband suffered a traumatic brain injury, I became responsible for navigating complex, ever-changing dietary protocols. Individual food tolerances could shift overnight, but the meals still needed to nourish and satisfy.

This decade-long journey solidified for me that cooking isn't about following recipes—it's about understanding food, understanding bodies, and understanding how to adapt. Most importantly, it showed me that true kitchen confidence comes from foundational mastery, not memorized instructions.
